E46 M3 CSL
The E46 M3 Coupe Sport Lightweight (CSL) was limited to just 1,383 units for the European market. The CSL is distinguishable by its use of lightweight components; such as aluminum, GFP composite panels, fiberglass-reinforced plastic, thinner rear glass, and carbon fiber body panels. The most iconic piece of engineering on the CSL would be the carbon fiber air box that fed all six individual throttle bodies with uniquely characteristic intake noise. The sole transmission available was the SMG II with revised software and a special launch control feature. Two exclusive color options offered on the CSL were Silver Grey Metallic and Black Sapphire Metallic.
