F87 M2 Base
As the indirect successor to the 1 Series M Coupe, the M2 debuted in 2016 as an affordable entry level M car. To keep the cost down, BMW M fitted the M2 with the N55B30 turbocharged inline-six engine instead of an M engine. To give it more power and response, the engine was tuned to 365hp and 343lbft of torque with an available overboost function pushing torque to 369lbft. Transmission options were a 6-speed manual or the M 7-speed double clutch transmission. A limited slip rear differential was standard.
